PGNiG official says Gazprom must raise gas supplies to Europe

HOUSTON, Texas, U.S. Dec 9 (PRIME) -- Poland wants Russian gas giant Gazprom to raise gas supplies to Europe, PGNiG Deputy CEO Przemyslaw Waclawski said late on Wednesday at an international oil congress.

"My opinion is that Europe expects this. At the moment, when Gazprom starts to pump gas, Europe, and mainly Western Europe, will be in greater safety in the winter," Waclawski said. He added that Europe might face a tough winter due to the deficit of gas in underground storages.

The Russian Energy Ministry said that domestic fuel demand is fully satisfied both on the wholesale and retail market, and the ministry was monitoring gasoline supplies to keep them stable.
